NFLPA Membership is free and available to every player who signed an NFL contract. Here are some of the opportunities that Non-Vested players are eligible for:
Benefits
The Work/Life Resource Benefit provides a Clinical Services Program and a Work/Life Program to assist in resolving day-to-day issues impacting health. This includes up to 8 face-to-face or virtual confidential counseling sessions, per issue per year, at no cost. Unlimited telephonic consultations are available 24/7. Players who have 2 or more credited seasons are eligible to receive a lump-sum payment 12 months following their last NFL contract. For additional information regarding this benefit, please contact the NFLPA Benefits Department at (800) 372-2000.
Players who are vested in the 401(k) plan can check balances, change investments, check distribution rules and update beneficiaries by logging onto NFLPlayerBenefits.com or by calling the NFLPA Benefits Department at (800) 372-2000 for more information.
Non-vested players must apply within 48 months of the date you cease being an active player. This benefit is for injuries sustained while playing in the NFL. For more information on this benefit and to inquire if you may be eligible, please contact the NFLPA Benefits Department at (800) 372-2000.
Non-vested players must apply within 84 months after the end of his last contract with an NFL Club under which he is a “Player” for at least one “Game,” as those terms are defined in the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle NFL Player Retirement Plan. Players who have 2 or more Credited Seasons are eligible to enroll in The Trust, and organization committed to a former player’s well-being. We have partnered with Lee Hecht Harrison to offer a two-month transition coaching program to help our players with a career assessment, resume building, interviewing skills and many other tools for a successful transition or even a second career transition. Players can upgrade their skillset with a wide range of courses including Rock Your LinkedIn Profile, Tableau Essential Training, Entrepreneurship Foundations, Excel for Business Analysts, Social Media Marketing Tips, and more! All players who have less than 2 credited seasons can receive a free account when they email formerplayers@nflpa.com.
Players with less than 2 credited seasons can get a free family membership to the YMCA. Email formerplayers@nflpa.com with your name and closest YMCA branch to receive a form to activate your membership.
If a player and his family do not have health insurance, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) is proud to recommend Working America Health Care. Former players can find the lowest available rates and investigate if they qualify for even lower costs based on income.
