ARBITRATOR UPHOLDS NFLPA’S REJECTION OF DANIEL MARTOE’S APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION
Based on information presented to the National Football League Players Association’s (NFLPA), a determination was made that Daniel Martoe failed to meet the requirements for certification as an NFLPA Contract Advisor and the NFLPA denied Mr. Martoe’s application.
Mr. Martoe appealed the NFLPA’s denial of his application. Represented by David Cornwell, Mr. Martoe unsuccessfully argued in an appeal before Arbitrator Jerome Ross that the NFLPA acted unreasonably by denying his application. Arbitrator Ross found that the NFLPA was reasonable to deny Mr. Martoe’s application, and he denied Mr. Martoe’s appeal. Therefore, the denial of Mr. Martoe’s application for certification is final.
